The Island Reproductive Teen Reps are a group of high school students who carry out the purpose of IRHI in the student community.
This includes presentations for their peers to teach about important sexuality education topics such as preventing unwanted pregnancy, how to use a condom, where to get tested for STIs and STDs, and healthy relationships.
They are also trusted confidential sources that can be consulted by their peers about the services that IRHI offers – including how to book an appointment to get birth control, where and how to request free pregnancy tests or Plan B, and how to get confidential help from a trusted adult.
Meetings take place every other Wednesday throughout the school year. Teens receive community service hours, awesome snacks, and a community of healthy positive teens doing good stuff in the community.
